How to Use Follower Insights
Follower Insights shows you exactly who’s paying attention to your account. You’ll get a snapshot of your audience’s location, age, gender, and overall growth—making this page essential for campaign planning, targeting, or sharing results with sponsors and collaborators.
To get started: Go to Profile Analytics, select the account you want to analyze, then click Followers in the left-hand navigation.
Basic Profile Stats
At the top, you’ll find basic stats about the profile you’re monitoring:
Total Followers – How many people follow the account
Total Following – How many accounts the profile is following
Total Posts – The number of posts published by this profile
These give you quick context before you dig into the audience details.
Follower Location
This section includes a heatmap and a ranked list of top countries.
You’ll see:
A global heatmap showing where your followers are
Toggle between global and U.S. state-level views
A country-by-country breakdown with follower counts and percentages
🔍 Key Insights to Look For
Top regions: Prioritize high-engagement countries or states for localized content or paid targeting.
Unexpected clusters: Identify emerging markets or audiences you didn’t know were paying attention.
Audience shifts: Watch for changes after campaigns—did your location mix shift noticeably?
Follower Gender
This section uses a pie chart to show the gender breakdown of your followers:
Male
Female
Unspecified
🔍 Key Insights to Look For
Audience match: Check if your actual audience aligns with who you’re trying to reach.
Gender skew: If one group dominates, you might tailor your tone or creative to better balance or lean in.
Segment opportunity: An underrepresented group could be a chance to grow or experiment with new messaging.
Follower Age
This bar chart breaks down followers by age bracket, from 13–17 up to 65+.
🔍 Key Insights to Look For
Age concentration: Identify which age group dominates—this helps shape the tone, references, and pacing of your content.
Mismatch warnings: If your content is meant for 18–24 but you’re mostly reaching 45+, something’s not landing.
Audience lifecycle: A younger skew might signal top-of-funnel reach, while older groups could reflect long-term loyalty or buying intent.
Follower Age & Gender
This combined chart shows how your audience breaks down across both gender and age groups.
🔍 Key Insights to Look For
Demographic hotspots: See where your audience clusters (e.g., 25–34 Female). That’s your core group.
Creative relevance: If one age/gender group dominates, tailor visuals, tone, or format to their preferences.
Segment testing: Underrepresented groups may be good candidates for A/B testing or growth campaigns.
