Sub-Trackers let you filter and break down results from an existing tracker without collecting new data. They’re ideal for analyzing specific terms within a broader search—giving you a closer look at trends, themes, or locations without losing the full picture.

For example, if your main tracker follows #Hawaii, you might create sub-trackers for #Maui and #Oahu to isolate those mentions and compare them side by side.

Create a Sub-Tracker

To isolate specific terms within your main search, set up a sub-tracker in just a few steps.

1. Go to Listening & Campaigns.

2. Click Edit to open tracker options for the tracker you want to filter.

3. Scroll to Sub-Trackers.

4. Enter the terms you want to filter (e.g., “Maui”).

5. Choose if the sub-tracker should apply to:

  • Future data only, or

  • All data, including past posts.

6. Click Save to finish.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Choosing “All data” will reprocess your tracker, which may take time depending on the volume of data.

View Sub-Tracker Data

Once created, you can toggle between sub-trackers to explore filtered insights without losing your full dataset.

1. Open your main tracker.

2. Select the Sub-Tracker dropdown.

3. Choose the filtered data you want to view.

  • To see all posts in the main tracker, select All Sub-Trackers.
