Platform-Specific Details for Social Listening
Keyhole’s data collection varies by platform based on API permissions. Below is a summary of capabilities and limitations for each platform:
X
Capabilities: Tracks all public posts with hashtags, keywords, phrases, or @mentions without restrictions. Can also track posts from specified accounts added to the Account Watchlist.
Limitations: Cannot access private accounts or protected tweets. Historical data is available starting from 2015, depending on your plan.
Capabilities: Tracks any public hashtags. For accounts in the Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics, Keyhole also tracks @mentions and keywords.
Limitations: General keyword tracking is not supported across all public posts—only hashtags can be tracked. Authentication is required to track specific accounts. Private accounts must be authenticated in the Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics to be tracked.
For more information, see Tracking Hashtags and Keywords on Instagram.
TikTok
Capabilities: Tracks posts with hashtags, keywords, phrases, or @mentions. Can also track posts from specified accounts added to the Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics and from engaged public accounts that meet TikTok’s data-listening criteria.
Limitations: Due to TikTok's data restrictions, broad social listening is limited to posts from specified accounts in the Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics, as well as public accounts that meet TikTok’s engagement criteria—including having an active following, regular interactions, and consistent watch time from viewers.
Capabilities: Tracks posts from specified public Facebook pages that are added to the Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics. If a page posts using your specified hashtags or keywords, Keyhole will capture those posts.
Limitations: Cannot track personal profiles, private groups, or general keyword mentions across Facebook (e.g., it cannot scan all public posts for a keyword). Authentication of at least one account is required to track posts from both authenticated and specified public pages.
For more information, see Tracking Hashtags and Keywords on Facebook.
YouTube
Capabilities: Tracks metrics such as views, likes, comments, reach, and trending topics.
Limitations: Data is limited to specified channels in Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics.
News Sites, Blogs, and Forums
Capabilities: Tracks mentions, keywords, and phrases from publicly available news articles, blog posts, and forum discussions.
Limitations: Does not track private or paywalled content. Data availability depends on the source and may vary by region or publication policies.
