Use this page to break down your content performance by campaign, format, or message. Whether you're tracking product launches, evergreen content, or influencer themes like “Athletes” or “Partners,” Tag Performance helps you compare effectiveness across the topics that matter to you most.
What You'll See on the Page
At the top, you'll see a list of all tags used during your selected date range—whether added manually or through auto-tagging.
Each tag includes:
Posts This Period: Total number of posts where this tag was applied
Engagements This Period: Combined total of likes, comments, shares, and other interactions across those posts
Avg Engagements Per Post: Engagements divided by number of posts—useful for comparing tag effectiveness
Reach Per Post: Average number of unique accounts that saw each post (if available)
Total Reach: Sum of unique viewers across all posts under this tag (only available on platforms where Reach is supported)
Impressions: Total number of times posts under this tag were viewed—including repeat views from the same users
Engagement Rate: Engagements divided by total Reach or Impressions (depending on what’s available)—shows how actively people are interacting with your content
Follower Growth Rate: Percentage change in followers while this tag was active (if the data is available)
Key insights to look for
Tags that consistently perform: Sort by Avg Engagements or Engagement Rate to spot the themes or campaigns getting the strongest response.
Impressions without interaction: If a tag has high Impressions but low engagement, the message may not be resonating.
Audience growth during certain tags: If follower growth spiked while a tag was active, the content may have helped reach new people.
Top Posts by Engagement
This section highlights the best-performing posts within each tag.
Each post includes:
A content preview (with icons for videos or carousels, if applicable)
Tags applied
Caption
Total Engagements
Reach (if available)
Engagement Rate
Publish date
Key insights to look for
Recurring language or visuals: Look for repeated tones, captions, or formats that show up in top posts—they often reveal what’s clicking.
Format consistency: If a particular format (like carousels or Reels) keeps showing up in high performers, it’s likely worth repeating.
Recent drops: If recent posts in a tag are trailing older ones, it might be time to shift the approach.
Tag Timeline
This chart shows engagement trends over time for each tag.
What you’ll see:
A weekly view of engagement by tag
Bars showing how many posts were tagged vs untagged that week
Toggle to switch between Engagement, Reach, and Engagement Rate
Hover over any point to see total posts and engagement metrics for that week
Key insights to look for
Engagement peaks: Spikes often tie to launches, partnerships, or changes in tone—see what was posted that week.
Steady performers: Tags that do well over time are likely strong themes to continue building on.
Declining trends: If a tag's momentum fades, it could signal audience fatigue or a need for message refresh.

Create or edit tags
Tags can be applied manually or automatically based on keywords or phrases.
To create or update a tag:
Click Create Tag, then choose one of the following:
Auto-Tag – Set it up once, and we’ll automatically apply it to all matching posts, past and future.
Manual Tag – Create your tag, then manually apply it to individual posts.
For Auto-Tags, define your criteria using multiple keywords, combine terms with AND/OR, or add phrases in quotes for exact matches.
Examples:
Giveaway or Contest (separate terms into individual boxes)
Enter and Win (add a space, or use Add Criteria > And Include)
"link in the bio" (use quotes to search for the full phrase)
Keyhole will re-tag all existing and future posts that match your rules. You can edit or delete tags anytime.
