Tracking Capabilities by Platform
Keyhole collects real-time data from major platforms like X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube, along with millions of blogs, forums, and news sites. You can track hashtags, keywords, mentions, and posts from specific accounts—depending on what each platform allows.
Some platforms—like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube—require accounts to be authenticated in Keyhole to enable full tracking. The table below outlines what’s supported on each platform, including any limitations or requirements.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Instagram and Facebook require authenticated accounts for hashtag or keyword tracking.YouTube data is only available for channels added to Profile Analytics or the Account Watchlist.

Platform-Specific Capabilities & Limitations
X
Capabilities: Tracks all public posts with hashtags, keywords, phrases, or @mentions without restrictions. Can also track posts from specified accounts added to the Account Watchlist.
Limitations: Cannot access private accounts or protected tweets. Historical data is available starting from 2015, depending on your plan.
Data Backfill Limits: Pull data from as far back as 2015.
Capabilities: Tracks any public hashtags. For accounts in the Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics, Keyhole also tracks @mentions and keywords.
Limitations: General keyword tracking is not supported across all public posts—only hashtags can be tracked. Authentication is required to track specific accounts. Private accounts must be authenticated in the Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics to be tracked.
Data Backfill Limits: Pulls data from the last 24 hours (Account must be added to the Account Watchlist).

TikTok
Capabilities: Tracks posts with hashtags, keywords, phrases, or @mentions. Can also track posts from specified accounts added to the Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics and from engaged public accounts that meet TikTok’s data-listening criteria.
Limitations: Due to TikTok's data restrictions, broad social listening is limited to posts from specified accounts in the Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics, as well as public accounts that meet TikTok’s engagement criteria—including having an active following, regular interactions, and consistent watch time from viewers.
Data Backfill Limits: Not currently supported.
Capabilities: Tracks posts from specified public Facebook pages that are added to the Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics. If a page posts using your specified hashtags or keywords, Keyhole will capture those posts.
Limitations: Cannot track personal profiles, private groups, or general keyword mentions across Facebook (e.g., it cannot scan all public posts for a keyword). Authentication of at least one account is required to track posts from both authenticated and specified public pages.
Data Backfill Limits: Pulls data from the last 90 days (Account must be added to the Account Watchlist).

YouTube
Capabilities: Tracks metrics such as views, likes, comments, reach, and trending topics.
Limitations: Data is limited to specified channels in Account Watchlist or Profile Analytics.
Data Backfill Limits: Pulls data from the last 30 days (Account must be added to the Account Watchlist).
News Sites, Blogs, and Forums
Capabilities: Tracks mentions, keywords, and phrases from publicly available news articles, blog posts, and forum discussions.
Limitations: Does not track private or paywalled content. Data availability depends on the source and may vary by region or publication policies.
