  3. Using an Account Tracker to Identify Influencers

1) Only Track Data from Influencers

Influencer tracking is available on Hashtag & Keyword Trackers, and the amount of Influencers you can track depends on your subscription level. Please note that this option will only pull in data from the Influencers selected, and will not collect all other data, as a default Hashtag & Keyword tracker would.

a. To set your Influencers first go to your  My Tracks page, and either click “Edit” under the tracker you want Influencer data from, or select “Advanced” under “Create New Tracker”. Both options will take you to the Advanced Settings page, the only difference is if you’re editing an existing tracker vs setting up influencers before you set up your tracker. Once on the Advanced Settings page, scroll down to “From All Users or Specific Influencers” and click the blue arrow on the left. This will look like the screenshot below:

b.  Select “Specific Users Only” to input your Influencers Twitter and Instagram usernames. Input the names as @username, and separate each username with commas if there is more than one. If you wish to continue tracking posts from all users, simply select the “All Users” option, and click “Save Track” at the bottom of the page.

Tool Tip:

Please note if you set up your Influencers after you have saved your tracker, this will apply to all future posts collected and will not affect past posts in your tracker.

If you set up your Influencers before you have saved your tracker, this will apply to all posts collected from the beginning of your trackers history.

2) Using a Hashtag & Keyword Tracker to Identify Influencers

To Identify Influencers without restricting all your data to be collected from them, you can do this in the Influencer tab of any Hashtag & Keyword tracker.

Step 1 - The Influencer Tab

Go to your My Tracks page, and select the Hashtag or Keyword you are tracking. Once there, click on Influencer in the side tab of your Hashtag & Keyword Tracker.

Step 2 - Identifying Influencers

This step will depend on how you wish to identify an influencer. If you want a filtered Influencer list based on highest to lowest number of impressions, simply click on “Impressions” and the list will alter with Influencer with the highest number of impressions at the top, and least number of impressions at the bottom. The same can be done for any of the categories, depending on what data you want to view.

By typing in the “Filter Accounts and Bios” section you can identify users by their username or by keywords in their bio (for example, blogger).

By clicking any one of - Posts, Engagement, Followers, Impressions, or Exposure - the list will filter based on the influencer with the most number of aforementioned filters, to the influencer with the least number of aforementioned filters.

By clicking “Export Data” your resulting Influencer list will be downloaded as an Excel file.

Step 3 - Advanced Options

  • Followers - Select either Greater Than or Lesser Than, and enter a number of followers
  • Posts - Select either Greater Than or Lesser Than, and enter a number of posts
  • Bio - Enter a keyword to search within influencer’s bios
  • Engagement - Select either Greater Than or Lesser Than and enter an engagement ratio
  • Impressions - Select Greater Than or Lesser Than and enter a number of impressions
  • Location - Enter a location (country or state within the U.S.A.) to filter users

3) Using an Account Tracker to Identify Influencers

Finding influencers can also be done through account trackers, but not quite in the same way. For the purpose of this user guide, I will use an Account Tracker for Nike’s Twitter page, and will find influencers interested in the sports and running culture.

Step 1 - The Followers Tab

Go to your My Tracks page, and select the Account you are tracking and want to identify influencers from. Once there, click on Followers in the side tab of your Account Tracker.

Step 2 - Identifying Influencers

This step will depend on how you wish to identify an influencer. If you want a filtered Influencer list based on highest to lowest number of followers, simply click on “Followers” and the list will alter with the user with the highest number of followers at the top, and least number of followers at the bottom.

By typing in the “Search Followers” section you can identify users who have keywords in their bio (for example, blogger).

By clicking any one of - Interactions, Average Engagement, Followers, Following- the list will filter based on the followers with the most number of aforementioned filters, to the influencer with the least number of aforementioned filters.

By clicking “XLS” your resulting followers list will be downloaded as an Excel file. PDF will download the page as a PDF document. “Date Range” will filter the information to be within your parameters.

Step 3 - Advanced Filters

  • Min/Max Interactions - Slide the toggles to view followers with a minimum x or maximum y amount of interactions with the account you’re tracking
  • Min/Max Average Engagements - Slide the toggles to view followers with a minimum x or maximum y amount of engagements with the account you’re tracking
  • Min/Max Followers - Slide the toggles to view followers with a minimum x or maximum y amount of followers
  • Min/Max Following - Slide the toggles to view followers with a minimum x or maximum y amount of users following them

Click “Filter Followers” to apply the filters, “Reset” to erase the filters you applied, and “Close” to not apply any filters to the followers.
